Cookie Policy
COOKIE POLICY
1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They help websites work more efficiently and provide information to the site owner.
2. HOW WE USE COOKIES
MCR First Aid Training uses cookies and similar browser storage where needed for website functionality and security and to remember your cookie choice. We categorise these technologies into the following groups. Optional categories are used only where a corresponding service is enabled and you have accepted it. No optional analytics, advertising or personalisation services are currently enabled:
- A. Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our site or use a shopping cart. You cannot switch these off in our systems, as they are required for basic functionality.
- B. Analytical / Performance Cookies: These allow us to recognise and count visitors and see how they move around our website. This helps us improve our website by measuring performance and identifying errors. (e.g., Google Analytics).
- C. Functionality Cookies: These recognise when you visit a website and allow us to remember your preferences (such as your username or region) so you don’t have to re-enter them each time you visit.
- D. Targeting / Marketing Cookies: These cookies are used to make advertising messages more relevant to you. Third-party providers (such as Facebook or Google Ads) may store them to create a profile of your interests and show you adverts in a more relevant format on other sites.
3. MANAGING YOUR COOKIE PREFERENCES
When you first visit our website, the cookie banner offers two equally prominent choices: Accept All permits essential and optional categories, while Essential Only refuses optional categories. Optional services remain disabled unless you choose Accept All. There is no separate category-preferences panel.
We remember your choice for 180 days in browser local storage named mcr_cookie_consent. The record contains the choice, its expiry time and a format version, not your name or enquiry details. An old banner acknowledgement does not count as consent. If a choice is missing, expired or invalid, optional services remain disabled and we ask again. If browser storage is blocked, your choice applies to the current page but may not be remembered after navigation.
You can also:
- Browser Settings: Set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that certain parts of this website may become inaccessible or not function properly.
- Opting Out: Use Cookie settings in the website footer at any time to reopen the two choices. Choosing Essential Only withdraws permission for optional services; choosing Accept All grants it. Either selection starts a new 180-day period. Necessary functionality remains available with either choice. Your browser controls can also clear stored data; the website cannot delete cookies belonging to other domains.
